We connect with the needy primarily through a strategy of Compassionate Evangelism. We provide relief products to expand and extend the ministry of urban churches and missions, which in turn hand deliver them to the poor in their communities.
Evangelism is integral to everything Here’s Life Inner City does. Included in most products is Christian literature for children and adults. Participating ministry personnel are trained in how to most effectively use the products in evangelism.
Our Compassionate Evangelism meets the spiritual and physical needs of the poor through:
Heart & Sole Shoes:
New sneakers and shoes for back-to-school time.
PowerPacks:
Backpacks with school supplies and a Bible.
Boxes of Love:
The purpose of the Box of Love outreach is to provide a Thanksgiving meal to a family who might not otherwise have one. Each Box of Love feeds a family of six.
Each box holds a 12-lb. turkey with stuffing or a ham or chicken (depending on what is culturally appropriate to the neighborhood), along with vegetables, potatoes, juice, yams, apple or cranberry sauce, bread, fruit, dessert, and more ... plus Scriptures and children’s literature.
Homeless Care Kits:
Each Kit includes a blanket, warm gloves, a scarf, socks, toothbrush, soap, and spiritual materials. These kits often serve as the first step of a spiritual journey for a desperate person.
Easter Bags:
Plain paper bags filled with some of the things inner-city children treasure: candy, fruit, crayons, a toy ... a full-color children’s booklet about Jesus ... and a Bible activity book for children with little church background.
